Play Matta

Play Matta playground surfacing

Play Matta has raised the bar on playground surfacing performance and durability. The two-layered playground surfacing system is designed and engineered in New Zealand yet is enhancing the safety and useability of playgrounds around the world.
Play Matta impact absorbing rubber shock pads are manufactured from rubber buffings, sourced from truck tyre re-treads. After grading, the buffings are mixed with binder and ‘baked’. Play Matta modular tiles are manufactured using 100% recycled feedstock, which is pelletised and mixed before being injection moulded into tiles.
Together the two layers provide a safe and robust playground surface that meets Australian Playground Standards and looks great. Bespoke Playgrounds can help you to decide whether Play Matta playground surfacing is right for your setting.

Play Matta – a new generation of playground under-surfacing

Play Matta takes durability and playground safety to a new high. A comprehensive quality management program controls everything from the sourcing of the raw materials through to manufacturing stage. Bespoke Playgrounds are certified and qualified Play Matta installers so you can rest easy knowing that the quality control extends right through to installation.
The Play Matta system is an environmentally responsible choice due to its recycled content and long life. Playground owners can expect to receive 10+ years of service from their Play Matta playground surface.

The Play Matta system is also very low maintenance. Once in place, it creates a stable foundation for play, and its cushioning qualities aim to protect children from serious harm or injury. The interlocking nature of the mats allows for them to be lifted and re-laid should your playground be refitted or changed, adding to the affordability of the Play Matta playground surfacing system.
Deciding which playground surfacing option is best for your playground can be difficult. As experienced playground designers, and with a detailed awareness of Australian Playground Standards, Bespoke Playgrounds can help you to make the right decision, with consideration of your needs and budget. The final decision will always be yours, however we never hesitate to share our expertise.
