Balmoral Park

Jean Howie Drive, Morningside

We worked with the Brisbane City Council to design a nature playground to replace an existing playground in Morningside.

The play space was on a slope so to uphold the integrity of the nature playground we installed a beautiful sandstone retaining wall.  We also engaged with an arborist to ensure that the surrounding trees and tree roots were protected during excavation.

With nature in mind our designer came up with the idea of  creating a ‘Ranger Station’.  Our local artist brought the concept to life painting colourful art panels.

To make use of the space we sanded back some large ironbark logs to make a log walk.  Our carpenters connected the upper and lower play spaces with a timber bridge.  We also installed a couple of park benches, a seesaw and swing set.  We hope the children of Morningside have lots of fun for year to come.
