Ipswich Junior Grammar School

A new play space

Ipswich Junior Grammar School

Ipswich, Queensland

We designed and installed a nature play space for Ipswich Junior Grammar School in 2021, and they asked us to return in 2022.

They had a piece of land at the bottom of an embankment that they wanted to be easily accessible and provide the children with some upper body strength.  The children originally could only access via a side gate and most parts of the land were unusable.  But now, the new large tunnel slide provides them  with super quick access from the top oval making great use of unused space.  We linked a new sandpit to an existing pond, installed monkey bars and monkey rings and landscaped with sandstone blocks and rubber.

When the bell goes the children can scramble up a wide embankment net to make sure they are back in class in time.

Our team couldn’t help smile watching the teachers join in the fun. They were seen slipping down the slide and scrambling up the net.
