All the services for your outdoor playground equipment needs

“It is the operator’s responsibility to provide for regular inspections of playgrounds and playground equipment, surfaces, corrective action, maintenance and records which is crucial to their safe performance.”

– Standards Australia

Maintenance

Once installed, outdoor playground equipment and surrounds need to be inspected regularly and any maintenance carried out to ensure the health and safety of those using it. As a playground owner, it is your responsibility to conduct the regular maintenance checks and schedule the required maintenance.

Each playground is unique and requires its own inspection schedule. Should an inspection identify a playground item as unsafe, that item should be immediately secured to prevent further use. The hazard should be reported and the repair made a priority. Other maintenance that is not necessarily centred on safety issues should be undertaken as part of an ongoing maintenance program. This will help maximise the playground’s lifespan.

Playground Inspections

It is good practise to have a documented playground inspection schedule. Regular inspections can help identify potential hazards and any areas of non-compliance with Australian Playground Standards before an accident happens.

Protect your playground users and yourself as a playground owner by arranging a playground inspection from a certified playground inspector. You will be provided with a detailed report and a recommended maintenance plan.

Playground Certifications

Playgrounds are an important part of a child’s social, physical, intellectual, and emotional development. Although playgrounds need to be safe from major hazards, they still need to challenge children’s limits in order to see developmental growth. To reduce the likelihood of an accident from faulty or non-compliant equipment, every effort should be made to make playgrounds safe.

As such Australia has playground standards. The objectives of these standards are to protect the user, minimise the risk of injury, identify and make corrections, develop a comprehensive management program and documentation, and forward planning.

A safe playground is a certified playground. Our certified playground inspector can inspect your playground and issue a Certificate of Compliance. Scott Walton is a certified Level 1, 2 and 3 Comprehensive Playground Inspector.
